Freedom Food, set up in 1994, is the RSPCA's farm assurance and food labelling scheme which is dedicated to improving welfare standards for the one billion farm animals reared for food each year in the UK.

Freedom Food offers certification for farmers, hauliers, abattoirs, processors and packers and the scheme approves well-managed free-range, organic and indoor farms. A Freedom Food approved assessor visits everyone who applies for membership and completes a thorough audit of their premises.

Freedom Food is the only UK farm assurance scheme dedicated to improving farm animal welfare. As a consumer you can show your support by choosing products with the Freedom Food logo.

The Freedom Food label enables shoppers to recognise higher welfare products - products that come from animals reared on farms inspected to strict RSPCA welfare standards, with assured traceability from farm to fork.
