Eat and Drink for a worthy cause

Enjoying a delicious home-made meal made from local produce at a local award winning dining pub could be seen as an extravagant luxury. Not if you dine at the Queen's Head in Bramfield. So sit back, relax and enjoy a delicious meal knowing that you are doing it for one of four very different but worthy causes.

1. HALESWORTH COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS

Since July 2009 the Queen's Head has highlighted one main course on the menu. For every sale of this dish we donate 20p to the Halesworth Community First Responders Scheme. A donation box is also available for customers to make additional donations if they wish to.
Community First Responders (CFR) are a group of volunteers living in the community who undergo first aid training from the ambulance service and agree to be on call from the ambulance control to care for patients until the ambulance arrives. CFR's receive no pay and all equipment such as defibrillators is paid for by money raised locally in the community.

2. WATER AID

Every time a customer asks for a glass or jug of tap water they are invited to make a small donation to WaterAid to help the 1.1 billion people throughout the world who live without safe water. There is absolutely no obligation or pressure. Visit www.wateraid.org

3. THE DOGS TRUST

For a number of years a second hand bookshelf has been in the lobby of the Queen's Head. Pop a donation into the charity box when you take a book.

4. CHRISTMAS PRIZE DRAW

Every year the Queen's Head holds a Christmas Prize Draw for a hamper of home-made and local goodies.
In 2009 the proceeds went to the Halesworth Community Nursing Care Fund who provide support, nursing and equipment to terminally ill patients in the community.
