About Us

Located on the edge of the Suffolk Heritage Coast and only 15 minutes from the historic town of Southwold the Queen's Head, a Grade II Listed buildng, has stood at the centre of the small village of Bramfield for several centuries. Formerly known as "Skeltons" the traditional pub has evolved into a fine dining pub with scrubbed pine tables, exposed beams, huge fireplaces, a bar with vaulted ceiling and above all - friendly service.

Mark and Amanda Corcoran moved to the Queen's Head on 1st October 1997 and have since gained recognition from the major guide books. The highly respected Good Pub Guide named the Queen's Head as its Suffolk Dining Pub of the Year for two successive years in 2001 and 2002.

Tucked away behind the pub is a beautiful garden featuring an unusual Willow dome constructed by local craftsmen. Plenty of bench seating make it an ideal location for al fresco dining and drinking with lots of space for the children to play. Overlooking the garden is the village church with its thatched roof and unusual separate round bell tower. Watch out for the family of Bantam Chickens!

We pride ourselves not only on producing tasty top quality meals that are all home-made but also on using natural local produce. Our Ice Cream is home-made and we bake our own bread daily too. Many of our meals contain ingredients collected weekly from small local traditional organic farms, working closely with local organic farmers who care about, and are proud of the quality of the food they produce. You will often see on the menu the name of the farm where the principal ingredients were collected from.

We generally have a variety of Cakes, Jams and Chutneys from our kitchen available for purchase as well as locally produced Honey.

We also operate a Recycling Scheme and accept glass, postage stamps and printer cartridges and toners for that purpose. We also accept book donations for resale. Proceeds raised from these schemes go to the Village Hall and various other charities.
